Abstract

1453015 Hair-dryers S G MALLOFRE 7 March 1974 [7 March 1973] 10218/74 Heading A5R A hair-dryer in which a current of air is generated by a rotor 4 inside a hood 1, comprises a passage 16: for branching off air from the hood into a heat-exchanger wherein the air flows around pipes 6, past an evaporating coil 13 of a cooler unit, and then through a hygroscopic filter 9 before returning to the hood through the pipes 6, which open up into a passage 17 communicating with the hood. The heat-exchanger comprises a vertical chamber 18 and contains horizontal deflectors 19, a trough 12 being positioned at the base of said chamber. The passages 16, 17 are connected by telescopic arrangements 5 to chamber 18. The hood contains an air-deflector inside its mouth and electrical heating resistors 3 above the rotor. The hygroscopic material used in the filter may be, e.g., silica gel, calcium chloride, or calcium oxide.
