Abstract
1451350 Flux for basic steelmaking CARAD Inc 28 Dec 1973 60105/73 Headings C7D and C7M A flux for basic iron and steelmaking process comprises by wt. being calculated as metal but present as compounds particularly oxides or carbonates. The composition may also contain up to 20% of a boron compound particularly rasorite, colemanite, boric acid, anhydrous borax, boron trioxide, calcium metaborate ulexite, inderite, kernite or kurnakovite. The calcium fluoride may be obtained as a by-product from aluminium manufacture, and the manganese as ore or flue dust.
