Abstract

1450708 Digital clocks COPAL CO Ltd 19 Dec 1973 [25 Dec 1972] 58741/73 Heading G3T [Also in Division G4] In a flap-type indicator, e.g. a digital clock, having successively displayed flaps in respective series on a low speed (hours) drum T and a high speed (minutes) drum M, and a resilient synchronizing member S between the drums and actuable by the drum M, when the latter is near the end of a display series, into the path of the flaps on the drum T to prevent their premature dropping, the member S is first engaged by a cam C on the side of the drum M, then also by a lug M59' on the final flap M59 of the high speed series, and is then disengaged by the cam leaving the member S held only by the flap lug, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown) so that the member S and thus the low speed flap are released at the instant when the last high speed flap M59 drops on release by its holding member Km. Lugs on all but the final flap of the drum M can thus be dispensed with. The hours drum holding member Kt is moved to release the next flap to fall, TA 4-2 as shown, after the member S is moved to its restraining position. The clock may be a calendar clock with day or date flaps.
