Abstract

1450187 Wire fences PYE Ltd 17 Oct 1973 48261/73 Heading E1B [Also in Division G4] A security fence incorporates a bridge circuit with strain gauges 10 in cantilever wire attachments 5, 7 on a series of posts 1A, 1B. For each post the associated strain gauges are divided into four groups and connected in series in the arms of a wheatstone bridge in such a way that, for each pair of adjacent wires, the pairs of strain gauges associated with a pair of adjacent posts are not both connected in adjacent arms of the bridge circuits. Thus disturbance of any adjacent pair of wires will cause the bridge of one of the two adjacent posts to be out of balance and, at a predetermined voltage, activate an alarm. Intermediate posts 17, which allow longitudinal movement of the wires, may be used between the active posts 1A, 1B. The comptroller has directed that reference to Specification 1354057 be made under Section 9 of the Act. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specification 1354057.
