Abstract
1300080 Elastic spacer for conductors A SALVI & C SpA 30 Dec 1969 [22 Feb 1969] 63374/69 Heading H2C In an elastic spacer, the conductors 1 are anchored to clamps 2, hinged to intermediate rigid bodies 3, which are in turn hinged to a central rigid body 5. The hinges 4, 6 are preferably of wire rope, of length 20 to 50 mm. and diameter 10 to 15 mm. but may be made of a plurality of parallel wire ropes. The flexibility of the spacer may be altered by varying the length of the wire ropes, or the diameter or stranding thereof. Mutually opposed protuberances 7 limit the mutual displacement of the rigid elements, under conditions of severe stress, such as a short circuit in the line. The protuberances 7 are preferably spaced by 5 to 10 mm., depending on the hinge length. Embodiments of Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) show a spacer for three and two conductors respectively the former having two intemediate rigid bodies (3), hinged to a crosspiece rigidly formed with the leg (2<SP>11</SP>) of a third clamp (2) thus acting also as a central body; the latter having the cable clamps interconnected via a single intermediate body (3).
