Abstract

1450075 Hair clips J BURTON 25 Feb 1974 [15 March 1973] 12478/73 Heading A4V A hair-shaping clip 10 comprises a pair of clamping members 11, 13, e.g. of synthetic plastics material, having an arcuate transverse cross-section such that member 11 will fit within member 13, and additional means for urging the members into contact with each other so that hair may be clamped therebetween. In one embodiment the members are semi-cylindrical, and apertures 12 to facilitate drying of the hair are formed in both members, member 13 being of skeletal form. A hinge comprising a pin 17 passing through apertures in lugs 16 connects the two members at one end. Handles 14, 15 extend from the pivoted end of each member, the handles being forced apart either by a resilient member therebetween, e.g. of plastics material or by a spring. The members 11, 13 may be formed integrally with the handles by injection moulding of a rigid, heat-resistant, anti-static, plastics material. The clamping members may be separate members with means, e.g. crocodile-type clips, for clamping.
