Abstract

1,040,333. Clip brackets. N. H. NASH. June 14, 1963 [March 16, 1962], No. 10262/62. Heading A4B. A clip-action wall bracket, for stowing elongated articles such as small arms or brooms, comprises opposed, sinuous spring metal strips 17 carried between the limbs 15 of a U- or V-shaped body 12 and providing a plurality of gaps 19 therebetween of width less than the corresponding width of the U or V, the first gap being located at the free ends 16 of the limbs 15 but inwardly of the free outer, mutually divergent ends 20 of the strip 17 and at each gap 19 the strip 17 is free to flex. The embodiment shown comprises a sheet metal pressing including a base 11 formed with screw holes 13 and a pair of integral U- shaped sides 12, the spring strips 17 being secured centrally to bars 18 extending between the side links 15. The strips 17 are faced with a strip 26 of deformable material, such as rubber, felt or leather, which is supported at its mid portion 28 by a cross bar 29. Small arms or other elongated articles are releasably held between the spring strips 17. Other embodiments are described using sheet metal and castings.
