Abstract

1441204 Cable ducting HAPPICH GmbH Gebr 8 May 1974 [27 July 1973] 20334/74 Heading H2C A cable duct comprises an elongate base member 1 having a web 2 by which it is fixed to a supporting surface 4 with side walls 3 upstanding from the web and curving inwardly towards each other and having thickened beads 5 along their edges with longitudinal inward slots 6 to hold a cover 7 by snapping or sliding it into the slots and with inwardly projecting fins 10 on the side walls to form channels near the web 4 to hold a cable holding strip 8 which has a base with projecting edges 9 to fit in the channels, side walls upstanding from the base and overlapping projecting flaps extending inwardly from the side walls. Cables are to be carried in the cable holding strip within the cable duct. The cover 7 may be a flat plate, or may have circular section beads at its edges for snap insertion into the slots 6 which are of suitable cross-section (Fig. 2 not shown), the cover may also be padded or hollow in construction (11 Fig. 3 not shown) to form padding. The base member 1 may be made of rigid material such as metal, for example aluminium, while the cover and/or the cable holding strip may be of softer material to avoid denting. For snap insertion the cover would be of elastic resilient material.
