1450011 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines DORNIER SYSTEM GmbH 12 March 1975 [23 April 1974] 10282/75 Heading F1F In a compressor of the trochoidal-piston type chambers 20, 22, 24 between the piston and casing are inter-connected by way of "lines" 44, 48, 50 so as to effect compression in stages. In the compressor shown the first stage of compression is performed in the chambers 22, 24 and the second stage in the chamber 20, coolers 54, 55 being disposed on the inlet and outlet sides of the last chamber. Non-return valves may be provided in the inlet and outlet of each chamber. In another embodiment, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the compressor has seven chambers connected in seriesparallel so that compression is carried out in two or three stages. The compressor may be driven by an electric motor and furnished with a water pump or air blower for cooling, Fig. 1 (not shown).
