Abstract
1449410 Mixing apparatus JA-RO AB OY 28 Aug 1974 [29 Aug 1973] 37605/74 Heading B1C Apparatus for dispersing one medium in another comprises a hollow rotatable shaft 1 carrying at least one blade 3 of streamline cross-section and of width substantially greater than its thickness, and having slits 7 along the upper and lower surfaces of the blade at its region of greatest thickness, which are connected to the supply conduit in the shaft for the substance to be dispersed. There may be a step 8 in either side of the slits; the thickness of the blade may increase towards the shaft, its width may vary along the blade, it may be curved in plan, it may be adjustably angled to the shaft and the width of the slits may be adjustable. In an embodiment for aerating waste water the shaft is inclined to the vertical and the rotor is surounded by a cylindrical shaft tube (10, Fig. 5 not shown).
