Abstract

1399543 Surface aerators VIZGEPESZETI VALLALAT 3 Nov 1972 50830/72 Heading B1C A rotatable surface aerator comprises a bladed rotor the blades of which are adjustable to vary the effective diameter and/or length along the axis of rotation of the rotor. The rotor has a frusto-conical casing 1 with radial blades 3a to which are adjustably and detachably secured blade end plates 3b for varying the effective diameter of the rotor. A further set of blades 2 are mounted to extend both inwardly and outwardly of the casing through slots therein, the blades 2 being pivotally mounted at 11 on the casing so as to be adjustable inwardly and outwardly thereof by means of a vertically movable shaft 6 coupled to the blades by rods 4. Elongate slots (9, Fig 2, not shown) are provided in the wall of the casing 1 behind the blades 2 to allow effluent material to flow into the interior of the casing. The blades 3a, 3b are provided with apertures 10 to assist in the oxygenation of effluent being treated.
