Abstract

1448530 Seals CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 30 Dec 1974 [7 Jan 1974] 56080/74 Heading F2B In an hydraulic ram, annular chamber 30 is continuously flushed with low-pressure hydraulic fluid, so as to remove leakage through seals 16, 17 and contaminants which have penetrated seals 18, 19. A low pressure pump 28 delivers the fluid through a single chamber 30 or through the chambers of a number of similar cylinders 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP>. The contaminant? are removed by filter 32 as the fluid is returned to reservoir 21. High pressure pump 20 operates the ram 10.
