Abstract
1447466 Washing machines INDUSTRIE A ZANUSSI SpA 19 March 1974 [30 March 1973] 12139/74 Addition to 1265422 Heading D1A The detergent dispenser of the main Patent in which a piston is slidable to selectively direct water into channels 13 to 16 and chambers a, b and c leading to compartments A B C and D .for prewash and washing agents, bleach and size in a slidable drawer 11 is modified to direct hot and cold water separately or mixed to the channels 13 to 16. As shown in Fig. 1 cold water from pipe 30 and nozzle 29 enters the open end of the piston and leaves from a radial outlet 41 and hot water from a nozzle 28 is directed downwards by surface 50 of a rib 46 (Fig. 2) straight into the tub of a washing machine or, when the piston is displaced for washing, passes through a piston passage 43 to mix in the passage 14 with the cold water. In an alternative arrangement Fig. 7 the pipes 30 and 31 are mounted for movement with the slidable piston and an air break chamber 57 is provided between the radial piston outlets 65, 66 and the ends of the passages 13 to 16.
