Abstract

1445565 Fibre-reinforced concrete CEMENT & CONCRETE ASSOCIATION 30 Oet 1973 [2 Aug 1972] 36118/72 Heading B5A [Also in Division E1] A concrete article is made by moulding in an hydraulic press a quantity of Portland cement, aggregate and water, this mixture having dispersed therein a proportion of fibres of metal, synthetic resin or glass. Portland cement is mixed by revolving blades with sand, crushed granite, and 1-2 per cent by volume of fibres such as plain or crimped steel. The mixture is used to make a manhole cover or paving slab. A suitable material is described in Specification 1,068,163.
