Abstract
1445504 Electrostatic microphones AKG AKUSTISCHE U KINO-GERATE GmbH 24 June 1974 [26 June 1973] 27992/74 Heading H4J An electrostatic microphone comprises an electrode 3 having a surface wtih projecting pins 5 and a diaphragm 1. An unimpeded space (C) is provided for oscillation of the diaphragm 1 when sound impinges normally on the diaphragm 1. The pins 5 may have a concave face (5<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 3 (not shown) nearest the diaphragm 1 and, if the diaphragm bears against these concave portions, it assumes a contour such that the bending rigidity of the diaphragm makes it difficult for it to bear against the surface of the electrode. The diaphragm 1 may be an electret adhered to an annular mount 2 of insulating material. The electrode 3 has bores 4 for establishment of an air chamber with access to the atmosphere. The raised portions 5 are regularly distributed. If desired, the electrode may comprise a member of insulating material having a metallized surface and the end faces of the raised portions are then unmetallized. Such insulating material may constitute an electret.
