Thrust bearings.-Thrust and like bearings for shafts of worm gearing, motor-vehicle steering- columns, &c. have annular blocks b of fibrous &c. material impregnated with lubricant, mounted in shell-like carriers e having projecting lips to retain the blocks without interfering with their bearing-surfaces. Two independent carriers riveted together back to back, as shown at f, are interposed between the bearing members.
