Abstract

1444725 Tanks and silos PERMALI Ltd 26 Sept 1973 [26 Sept 1972] 44318/72 Heading E1T A cylindrical storage container for liquids or a silo is constructed from bolted, flanged panels 10 of fibre-reinforced plastics which are re-inforced by at least one tensile hoop 20 extending around the container, sealing means 15 being provided between adjacent flanges such as 12. The hoop may be tightened by wedges or by a turn buckle and located in grooves 22 formed in the panels. The tank is bolted to a concrete foundation having an overlying gasket of plastics material, see Fig. 7 (not shown). The panels may be re-inforced by ribs 11. For minor details of panels, hoops and materials employed the Specification should be referred to.
