Abstract

1,115,157. Liquefied gas storage containers. ISHIKAWAJIMA-HARIMA JUKOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. 31 May, 1966 [31 May, 1965], No. 24094/66. Heading F4P. A liquefied gas, e.g. methane, storage container is constructed of prefabricated rectangular panels 6, Fig. 4, each comprising an inner liquid contacting metal plate 5 having an outer heat insulating lining 2 covered by a layer of concrete or plastic material reinforced by round bar meshwork 8 spaced from the plate 5 by a corrugated metal sheet 7 welded to the plate 5 and mesh 8; the projecting edges of mesh 8 and plate 5 being connected to those of adjacent panels during construction of the tank by welding thereto metal strips 11, 5<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 5. The gap between the adjacent edges are sealed by insulation material 2 and concrete 9<SP>1</SP>.
