1444357 Seats GPG HOLDINGS Ltd 23 Oct 1973 [24 Oct 1972] 48985/72 Heading A4H A chair is assembled from a plastics seat unit 1, and a frame 7, e.g. of metal tubing, the frame 7 having a substantially horizontal support part 10 and the seat unit 1 having two integrally moulded downwardly extending lugs 4, (5) with concave surfaces 6 that hook on to opposed portions of the support part 10, the chair being assembled by relative movement in the plane of part 10 between the seat unit 1 and the frame 7. The support part 10 is generally rectangular and to assemble the chair, the seat unit is positioned on frame 7 so that lugs 4, (5) are located within the rectangle and along a diagonal thereof Fig. 4 (not shown), and the frame is twisted (arrow x) relative to the seat unit to move the lugs along opposite parallel sides of the support part into hooked engagement with the frame Fig. 3, (not shown). The lugs are further apart than the opposite sides of part 10 so that during assembly the lugs, seat unit or support part are deformed. The seat unit 1 and frame 7 may be additionally secured by screws (12), auxiliary hooks or clips.
