Abstract

1,008,107. Hook fastenings. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Feb. 12, 1964 [April 25, 1963], No. 16235/63. Heading E2A. A fastener assembly comprises a mounting 1 adapted to be fixed to one of two relatively movable members 15, 17 and a wire 5 for engagement with a rotatably mounted hooked stud member 21 fixed to the other member 17, the mounting 1 holding the element 5 in such a way that in use it is prevented from movement parallel and transverse to the axis of the stud member 21. In the fastener shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the mounting is a channel shaped bracket with turned out feet 3 welded to a step 13 of a member 15. A U-shaped wire 5 fits into the channel and is held against movement by shoulders 7 on the wire 5 engaging the edge of the channel. The member 17 has attached thereto a resilient seal 19 and the hooked stud member 21 which is aligned with the straight portion 9 of the wire 5. In other embodiments the shape of the wire 5 is slightly varied and it may be held in the mounting 1 by other means such as screws and washers.
