1443566 Ball mills, mixing apparatus OLIVER Y BATTLE SA 4 Sept 1973 [4 Sept 1972] 41582/73 Addition to 1318678 Headings B1C and B2A A stirrer-type mill of the kind claimed in Specification 1318678 includes an annular member 16 Fig. 1 in the upper part of the mill tub 11 around the loading mouth, the member having a downwardly extending inner edge 17 and a horizontally-disposed sieve 15 through which the finished product from the tub is discharged by centrifuging. The product is then directed by an upper ring 18 towards a channel 19 which includes an air pipe 20 to prevent turbulence. The tub 11 has a cooling jacket 10 with coolant ingress/egress pipes 8, 9. These pipes communicate with the jacket via pipes 12 built into a tubular outer shaft 3. In the event of damage coolant is drained to a manifold 13 and thence via a pipe 14 to a drain. A disc brake 29 .... 31 and independent clutch 34 control the grinding and centrifuging functions.
