Abstract

1441724 Electric connectors BENDIX CORP 28 May 1974 [25 May 1973] 23620/74 Heading H2E A connector for interconnecting two tape cables, comprises three planar insulating members 10, 20, 30, one 30 of which has a plurality of U-shaped contacts 50 removably disposed in slots 39 therein, the tape cables, in use, being sandwiched in gaps between the said one member and a respective one of the other members. The member 30 has a recessed face 35 on each side which form the gaps (80, 90) in which the bared ends of the tape cables are held against the contacts 50 when the members 10, 20, 30 are clamped together by bolts passing through 11, 13, 31, 33, 21, 23. A fourth member 40 is bolted to an abutment surface 37 of the member 30 to hold the contacts in place; alternatively, instead of the fourth member a circuit board or a third tape cable could be positioned against surface 37 to connect with the rounded ends (53) of the contacts.
