An electrical connector for interconnecting two tape cable comprising a housing of insulating material with two parallel, Bpaced-apart gaps that extend from one side surface of the hou in to the opposite side surface thereof, each gap being adapt to receive one of the tape cables, wherein a plurality of para llel slote are formed tranversely of the gaps in the region of
2. An electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein the leg portions of the contacts that extend into the gaps have a bowed configuration.
3. An electrical connector according to claim 1 or 2, wherein elements of the housing located within the slots provide shoul ders over which the contacts are snapped. the
4. An electrical connector according to claim 1, wherein/bent ends of the . contacts have a rounded configuration and extend beyond the side surface of the housing towards which said bent ends are turned.
5. An electrical connector according to claim 1 or 4» wherein a contact retaining member in the form of a bar of insulating material substantially rectangular in cross-section is mounted on the housing in a position adjoining the bent ends of the co tacts. 44809-2/
