Abstract

1441592 Cutting tools WICKMAN WIMET Ltd 27 June 1973 [28 July 1972] 35362/72 Heading B3B A cutting tool for use in a roller tool box where the cutting tool is presented tangentially to the workpiece, comprises an elongated shank 10 having a "V"-shaped recess 11 in one face and extending to one end of the shank to a triangular removable insert 13 occupying said recess with one corner of the insert engaged in the V-shaped recess, so that the insert presents a straight cutting edge extending right across the width of the shank. The cutting edge is defined between a flat edge surface and a flat side surface 16 (17 or 18) and 14, the edge and side surfaces being at an acute angle and the flat side surface extending lengthwise of the cutting tool shank, clamping means in the form of a screw clamp 23-25, securing the insert in the recess. A small chamfer 19, 20 or 21 may be provided at one corner of each edge face of the insert.
