Abstract
1440509 Transferring electrostatic latent images RICOH KK 19 Nov 1973 [21 Nov 1972 15 Dec 1972] 53566/73 Heading G2H Electrostatic latent images formed on photoconductive layer 11 of drum I are transferred to dielectric-surfaced copy web 3 by carotron 5 and earthed transfer roller 2, and the conductive base 12 of the drum is connected to earth through varistor 7, or alternatively is held at a potential with respect to earth by a D.C. power source, to reduce dielectric breakdown in the photoconductive layer. If a power source is used, it should preferably have a potential of 100-500 V. The photo-conductive layer may comprise selenium or poly- N-vinylcarbazole, and the roller 2 may be of electrically conductive rubber.
