Abstract

1403753 Transferring electrostatic charge images MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 1 Sept 1972 [1 Sept 1971] 40685/72 Heading G2H An electrostatic latent image is produced progressively on a photo-conductive layer 17 as it is traversed by a reciprocating carriage 25 bearing a corona discharge apparatus 22 and an exposure slit 26 through which an image from a lens 15 reaches the charged photo-conductive layer, then the latent image is transferred progressively to a copy sheet 29 on which it is developed and fixed. The sheet 29 is fed around an electrically conductive rubber roller 30 on the carriage with a dielectric surface layer outwards and a conductive base against the roller. Movement of the carriage rolls the sheet on to the charged photo-conductive surface, and a wedge 33 on the carriage lifts it from the surface with a transferred latent image on it. Development with a liquid-suspension toner and fixing by a heater 61 follow.
