The jaws are shown applied to a hollowspindle chuck with a collet drawn into a bevel socket by a spindle fitted at the rear with a volute spring. According to the Provisional Specification, the jaws may rock on knife-edges, points, corners, or projections. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 6479/12.
