Abstract
1439188 Hot gas engines PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN NV 10 Sept 1973 [13 Sept 1972] 42471/73 Heading F1S [Also in Division F4] The heater 9 of a hot gas engine 1 has associated with the heater pipes 9' 9" a permeable mass through which the combustion gases flow during operation of the engine so that heat is transferred from these gases to the mass and radiated thereby to the heater pipes. As shown the permeable mass is composed of hollow spherical bodies 18 made of silicon carbide surrounding the pipes is a porous cylindrical sleeve 20 of silicon carbide modified arrangements of the heater pipes are referred to.
