Abstract

1438607 Typewriters G RITZERFELD 20 June 1974 [3 July 1973] 27374/74 Heading B6F A typewriter 1 preparing a hectographic master sheet is coupled to a typewriter 2 preparing a coded data carrier, typewriter 2 printing binary codes representative of digits printed by typewriter 1. The type bars of code typewriter 2 are formed with an arcuate surface (Fig. 3, not shown) so that the parts normally used for upper and lower case characters can be used simultaneously to print a code consisting of bars aligned vertically (Fig. 2, not shown). The code typewriter 2 is controlled so as to double space both in the letter spacing and line spacing directions. A key 6 on the master typewriter 1 disconnects the typewriters.
