Abstract

1,047,638. Typewriters; type-bars. OLYMPIA WERKE A.G. Sept. 18, 1963 [Oct. 4, 1962], No.36743/63. Headings B6C and B6F. A type face 1 for a typewriter adapted to type bold characters has the characters 3, 3a embossed on an upper surface 2 and the outlines of the characters form areas 4, 4a, the edges of which are raised to form boundaries 5, 5a. The boundaries are raised sufficiently to produce uniform images of characters when the type faces are impressed against an ink ribbon. The type face is also provided with an alignment mark 6 for alignment of the type head on its associated type bar.
