Abstract

1438491 Laminates PERMANITE Ltd 5 June 1973 [15 June 1972] 28142/72 Heading B5N A reinforced bitumen felt comprises a saturated bitumen fibre felt, e.g. paper, coated with a coating material, e.g. stabilized bitumen, on both sides and having a layer of non-woven glass fibre mesh embedded in the coating on one side. The glass fibre mesh may be coated with a thermoplastics material, e.g. a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer and/or ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer. The glass fibre mesh may be one in which at least the warp strands are double or multiple and in which the warp and melt strands are welded or fused to each other where they intersect. The reinforced felt may be dusted with talc to prevent sticking in the roll.
