1438212 Mounting impellers on shafts INGERSOLL-RAND CO 30 Jan 1974 [10 April 1973] 38555/75 Divided out of 1438211 Heading F2U The external surface of a compressor impeller shaft 50 is formed with three angularly equidistant lobes 86 spaced part by convex portions 84, and the internal surface of the impeller 52 is formed with three angularly equidistant lobeaccommodating recesses 86 spaced apart by concave portions 84. After the impeller has been slid on to the shaft, it is rotated relative to the shaft to bring each shaft lobe 86 into an interference fit with an impeller portion 84.
