1393055 Mounting compressor rotors on shafts DRESSER INDUSTRIES Inc 30 July 1973 [31 July 1972] 36216/73 Heading F2U In a centrifugal compressor, on a shaft 18 of one material (e.g. steel), supported in a housing, is mounted a rotor 28 (e,g. one of two acting in series), of another material (e.g. of aluminium or brass), and comprising a hub 46 having end portions 48, 50 mounted so as to be deformed to grip the shaft, and so that with increase in temperature, thermal expansion causes the portions to grip the shaft more tightly. To increase flexibility, the portions 48, 50 may each be divided into four segments, Fig. 3 (not shown) The rotor hubs may each be connected to the shaft 18 by a key (32, 34), Fig. 1 (not shown).
