Abstract

1436290 Glazing B MANTON J F MITCHELL and D A J TWEEN 1 Aug 1974 33952/74 Headings E1J and E1R A frame structure comprises a frame with a channel receiving the edges of a panel 5, sealing members 6 at the mouth of the channel, thus forming a passage, and closed cell rigid foam material filling the passage. The frame comprises a frame member 1 of Z-shape secured to a wooden support frame 3 by holding strip 15, and a glazing head 9 clipped onto the frame member 1. Seals 6 of mastic or plastics are provided. Foaming agent(s) are injected through holes in webs 7 to fill the spaces in the glazing boles in webs 7 penetrates to the passage. Strips 15 are discontinuous and foaming agents are injected between the gaps to fill the space adjacent support frame 3. The foam prevents leakage of water.
