Abstract
1436195 Tea rolling machines TEA RESEARCH ASSOCIATION 8 Oct 1973 [13 Oct 1972] 46916/73 Heading A2B A tea rolling machine comprises a cylinder 1 fitted with a feed hopper 4 and mounted for reciprocating backwards and forwards movement on rails 8 on a fixed frame 9, a rotor 2 fitting concentrically within the cylinder, and a fixed block 3 mounted on the frame at the hopper end of the cylinder. The rotor may be rotated continuously, or may oscillate, and is driven by a drive 11. The outside of the rotor and the inside of the cylinder are fitted with serrations or projections. The rotor may be of constant or variable diameter, and is mounted on a hollow shaft 5 which fits over a solid shaft 7. In use tea is fed through the hopper 4 into the space between the cylinder and rotor, and is urged to the discharge end of the cylinder by the reciprocating motion.
