Abstract

143,568. Lower, N. M. May 26, 1917, [Convention date]. Ratchet gearing.-In apparatus for intermittentlv rotating a screw conveyer, the driven member 48 carries a double pawl 47 which is engaged by an oscillating ratchet wheel 46. The pawl is connected to a spring link 53, the other end of which is attached to one arm of a bell-crank lever 51 which is pivoted on the driven ring 48. The other arm of the lever 51 carries a roller 60 which contacts with a sleeve (not shown), adjustable towards and from the face of the ring 48. The bell-crank lever may thus be adjusted so as to retain the spring link 53 in tension or compression to cause one end or the other of the pawl 47 to engage the wheel 46 and so reverse the direction of drive of the ring 48.
