Abstract

1435606 X-ray tubes SIEMENS AG 1 June 1973 [2 June 1972] 26356/73 Heading H1D [Also in Division H2] A rotary anode X-ray tube includes an anode 12, drive rotor 9 and a plurality of bearings 4, 5 for axle 6, each of the bearings including a first race, fast with the axle, and a second race, the second races being fast with tubular structure 7 resiliently coupled via laterally operating spring means to the envelope. High temperature-resisting spring tube 7 has a plurality (e.g. four/race) of outwardly bent resilient tongues (e.g. 20, 21, 22, 23), the pushing in of rotary system 3 during initial assembly or subsequent replacement being limited by inward grooves 23<SP>1</SP> in outer tube 2. The springs may be formed from the outer tube (Fig. 2, not shown), inner tube (28) having "fixing" stop grooves (29). Spiral springs are mentioned as well as plate springs, and detent locations, grooves and beads specified for spring location. Rotor 9 may be Cu lined with a 5 mm. iron layer 10, anode 12 being of W. The countering of several effects by the above construction is discussed.
