1434584 Making prefabricated brick wall elements BRUCK SCHLOSSER & CO GmbH June 1973 [6 July 1972] 26146/73 Heading E1S [Also in Division G3] A prefabricated brick wall element is made in a plant controlled by a program determining the shape of the element, by a method comprising conveying bricks successively to a first mortar applicator 26 which mortars upper surfaces of selected bricks, as required by their intended final positions in the wall element, turning the bricks through 90‹, applying mortar from a second applicator 27 to the new upper surfaces of selected bricks, arranging the bricks in lines which correspond to courses of the wall element and contain the required numbers of bricks in predetermined positions, and stacking the lines of bricks to assemble the wall element. As shown, bricks delivered on a truck 10 are transferred to a first conveyor 1 by a mobile gripper device 4, from where they are transferred to a second conveyor 19, whilst being turned through 90‹, by a pivoting hod device. On the conveyor 19, which comprises a pair of spaced apart belts, mortaring is carried out by lifting individual bricks to the applicator orifices 26, 27 by means of respective jacks, and the turning of bricks therebetween is carried out by another pivoting hod device. At the end of the conveyor 19 the bricks for a course are lifted by jacks and pushed off the conveyor on to a table 36 by rams 39, and the line of bricks is then pushed together longitudinally by opposed rams 45 and stacked on a truck 51 by another mobile gripper device 50.
