Abstract

1433396 Tilling and stone-breaking device F CARRE 14 Sept 1973 43357/73 Heading A1B A tilling device incorporates a stone-breaking mechanism comprising a rotor 4 having a number of hammers 83 freely pivoted on rods 81 and rotating between plough shares in the form of claw hooks 302. The hammers break up stones on the surface of the ground and also those picked up by the claw hooks. The device is drawn by a tractor and its frame is supported by two side wheels (to the rear of the rotor) the height of which can be adjusted by operation of hydraulic jacks 41. The rotor is driven from the tractor p.t.o. The claw hooks 302 can be adjusted by the screws 325 and are resiliently mounted to retract individually against the action of springs 321. An alternative embodiment has the supporting wheels approximately coaxial with the rotor and has the plough shares fixed to a transverse bar with a device to limit the thrust applied to them.
