Abstract

1303635 Tillage device ROTARY HOES Ltd 28 April 1970 [10 May 1969] 23920/69 Heading A1B A soil tillage device comprises a transverse shaft 15 bearing tillage members 18a, (19a, 18, 19), Fig. 2 (not shown), and driven from a power source 20 so as to rotate in a direction to assist forward movement of the device. Secured tothe mobile frame 10 of the device are soil erupting members 35c which have a shank 36c extending downwardly to the rear of the tillage members and merging into a toothed portion 37c which extends forwardly and terminates in a pointed tip 38 which lies below a plane tangential to the cylinder generated by the tips of the tillage members and passing through its lowest point. Frame wheels 26 are mounted on members 23 swingable about the front frame member 13 under the action of a manual screw jack 27, thus providing adjustment of the operative position of the frame relative to the ground surface. An adjustable shield 28 may be provided at the rear of the unit, and chisel point members 35e similar to soil erupting members 35c may be provided in advance of the rotary tillage members.
