Abstract

1432597 Hydrodynamic torque converter KABUSHIKI GAISHA DAIKIN SEISAKUSHO 10 Sept 1973 [11 Sept 1972] 42412/73 Heading F2W A hydrodynamic torque converter is cooled by a unitary fin structure 43 comprising fins 44 bent from a part toroidal metal sheet which is welded to the outer surface of the torque converter impeller element 11. As shown, radial fins 44 are integral with ribs 45 connected at their inner and outer ends to annular rings 46, 47. One of the rings 46 or 47 may be omitted. The fins 44 may be spiral to increase air flow. Each rib is spot welded at 48 to the impeller shell and the rings 46, 47 are spot welded to the shell at circumferentially spaced points.
