Abstract
1432451 Pile drivers; drop hammers GOTEBORGS BETONGPALAR AB 27 July 1973 [10 Aug 1972] 35968/73 Heading B3H [Also in Division F1] A hoisting mechanism for a drop hammer such as a pile driver, comprises a piston cylinder assembly inside the hammer weight 4 and the cylinder 8 is provided with a valve housing 10, Fig. 4, whose valve member 15 controls the pressurization and exhaust of the cylinder to cause reciprocation of the weight 4. The weight is guided on a frame 3, Fig. 2, and working fluid, e.g. air or oil, is supplied to the cylinder through a flexible hose 22 from a container 25 via a valve 24. The valve may be manually operated or be controlled by limit switches 36, 37. The valve member 15, Fig. 4, may reciprocate or oscillate and is urged against spring 19 bias by the pressure in inlet 13 to connect the hose 22 to the cylinder 8 and when the pressure is reduced or cut-off the valve member 15 moves leftwards to connect the cylinder to exhaust.
