Abstract

1431295 Feeding sheets XEROX CORP 8 May 1973 [16 May 1972] 21763/74 Divided out of 1431293 Heading B8R A paper feeding arrangement comprises support means adapted to receive a stack of documents, a document retarding member adapted to be positioned in contact with said documents, said support means including a platen member having an aperture formed therein, a document drive belt positioned beneath said platen and means for causing said belt to extend through said aperture periodically and contact a bottom sheet of a stack of documents thereby advancing a bottom sheet from the stack. A belt 214 is rotated about two pulleys 216, 218, the latter being eccentric about a shaft 230. An idler wheel 220 is adjustably mounted in a slot 228 to adjust the tension of the belt. A stack of documents 212 is supported on a supply platen 210 and are retarded by a wheel 250. As the belt rises periodically in a slot of platen 210 a bottom sheet is transported past the retard wheel and into the following machine.
