Abstract

1430702 Electron guns HITACHI Ltd 19 March 1974 [21 Sept 1973] 12138/74 Heading HID An in line electron gun assembly for a colour C.R.T. comprises 3 guns each including a heater 5, 6, 7 connected at equal intervals along a member 80 having an increased area 80a where the heater of the central gun is connected. The increased area loses more heat by radiation which compensates for thermal radiation received by the central gun from the outer guns and maintains the guns at the same temperature. This improves activation and extends the life of the central heater. The members 80, 90 are supported on glass members 1. Alternatively members 80, 90 may be replaced by conductive coatings on a single insulating support.
