1429537 Hay-making machine C VAN DER LELY NV 27 March 1973 [6 April 1972] 14785/73 Heading A1F A displaceable tine support 17 can be removed from a holder 18 of a rake member of a rotary hay making machine and be attached to a non-displaceable tine support 22 such that the overall width of the rake member is reduced. The hay-making machine comprises two rake members 1, 2, each having six tine group carrying tine supports, rake member 2 including two tine supports 17 connected by bolts 20A through flanges 20, 21 to tine holders 18, when in use. For transport purposes the tine supports 17 are removed from the holders 18 and extensions 19 of the supports 17 are inserted into holes in plates 23, 24 on the non- displaceable tine supports 22. They are bolted in position by bolts 20A through the flanges 20 and plates 23. As the tine supports of the two rake members 1, 2 intermesh as they rotate in use only one tine support 17 is required on rake member 1 in order to be able to reduce the width of the machine (Fig. 1). In order to prevent independent rotation of the members 1, 2 the displaceable tine supports are placed in axial alignment with their respective non-displaceable tine supports such that the tine groups of the non-displaceable tine supports can overlap the tine groups of the non-displaceable tine supports and hold them in position (Fig. 4 not shown) or that an adjacent tine group from each rake member 1, 2 can be tied together (Fig. 3 not shown). A protective bracket 9, arranged at the front of the rake members 1, 2, can be moved from a horizontal plane to a vertical plane and so reduce the width of the machine;
