1495972 Haymaking machines TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc 12 Dec 1974 [12 Dec 1973] 53826/74 Heading A1F A haymaking machine comprises a rake member 10 rotatable about an upright axis and has tines 25 at a circumferential region, the rake member also has a plurality of screens 21 that at least in operation are upright and disposed at locations between the tines and a central part 8 of the rake member, each screen having a major dimension extending in the direction of movement of the screen during rotation of the rake member, with the straight line that connects the leading and trailing ends of the screen forming a tangent to a circle centred on the axis of rotation of the rake member 10. The screen 21 may be supported by members 20, each of which has two arms, each carrying a tine 25, or by chains (Figs. 10-12, not shown). The screen may be a plate, as shown, or comprise an array of parallel rods (Fig. 6, not shown), or by three parallel tubes (Figs. 8-9, not shown).
