Abstract
963,108. Haymaking machines. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR A.G. June 27, 1963 [July 2, 1962], No. 25596/63. Heading A1F. A haymaking machine, including a frame 1 with a central rake-head 14 rotating about a vertical axis on the centre line of the machine, has a reduction and reversing gear 4 for driving the rake-head 14 and couplings 5 for the connection of other rake-heads 12, 13 are provided one on each side of the gear 4. The main frame 1 is bifurcated and terminates forwardly in a clevis for attachment to a tractor drawplate 3; the clevis may be universallyjointed (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). The rakeheads are each supported on a single wheel 16 mounted within the path of the rakehead tines. In Fig. I, the outer rake-heads are capable of free vertical movement about the couplings 5, but in Fig. 2 the couplings 18 are universal the outer heads being fastened to the frame 1 by adjustable struts 23 which permit the heads to be arranged in oblique-echelon and arrow-head formations for side-delivery and swath-collecting respectively.
