Abstract

1429133 Drying timber INTERTHERM PTY Ltd 2 April 1974 14640/74 Heading F4G An air heating and humidifying apparatus comprises a closed space 16 a closed circuit air circulation system 15, 16, 17 which includes the closed space, a hot gas generator which includes a burner 11 supplying in use heated gas to the system, the generator also producing steam, and a steam condenser 22 within the space 16. A valve 19 is provided for directing steam either into the system or into the condenser 22. Temperature and humidity sensors 27, 28 control the burner 1 and valve 19 respectively to keep the temperature and humidity in the space 16 not lower than predetermined values. A further valve 13 may be provided for passing the air/gas mixture in the system to exhaust 29. The steam is produced at low pressure in a boiler 12 and condensed steam in the condenser 22 passes to a reservoir 25 from which it is pumped to feed the boiler 12 when required.
