Abstract

1428514 Tank with floating roof VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN UND STAHLWERKEALPINE MONTAN AG 27 Nov 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 55022/73 Heading E1T In a tank of the floating roof type having a flexible sealing skirt 7 and a cover 6 with a sealing portion in contact with the tank wall, leaf springs 4 are secured to the floating roof 1 and each comprise upper and lower diverging legs 4, 5; the cover and the upper resilient sealing member 8a having peripheral line contact with the tank wall are secured to the free ends of the upper legs, and, the sealing skirt and a lower sealing member 8b are secured to the lower legs for peripheral line contact with the wall 3 of the tank. Each leaf spring is provided with a web 11 with an adjustable fixing screw 12 therein. The seals 8 are provided with longitudinal ribs and are secured by rivets which also secure sliding fingers in position, see also Figs. 2-5 (not shown).
