Abstract

1428227 Welding flux WACKER-CHEMIE GmbH 23 Nov 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 54432/73 Heading C7M A welding flux contains in per cent weight: 17-30SiO 2 , 18-35 Al 2 O 3 , 12-22TiO 2 , 10-22MnO, 4-16CaO, 2-10CaF 2 , O-5ZrO 2 , 0-5MgO, 0-5BaO, 0-2Cr 2 O 3 , 0-2Na 2 O, 0-2K 2 O with CaO+MgO+BaO 6-18, Na 2 O+K 2 O 0-2. Preferably the TiO 2 +ZrO 2 content does not exceed 22%. The flux can be formed by melting the constituents and water foaming the melt or granulating the solidified melt or by sintering and agglomerating the powder constituents. It can be used as sheaths or cores of electrodes.
